Block Boy reacts to everything you do

He nods when you place a piece, jumps when you clear a line and kicks his feet on a combo. When you run out of space he slumps, then waves you back in for another round. Leave him alone and he'll wander over and kick the magic orb.

He talks, too, and always about what's actually happening: good morning or way past bedtime, holidays from Christmas to Diwali, your streak, the world you're in, the sticker you're one away from. He tells jokes (they never repeat until he's told them all), and if you tell him your birthday, he throws you a party with a party hat on.

Help Block Boy bring his friends home

One night the Jumble swept through the Block Kingdom and scrambled all 66 worlds. Ruby, Blu, Sunny and Minty are lost, and Block Boy can't fix it alone. He needs a partner with a real block brain: you. The story plays the first time you open the game, in bold anime-style panels.

Hit a big combo and it rains gems

The board turns gold and treasure pours down for ten seconds. Tap or swipe to grab gems, stars and rare rainbow gems while your board waits safely underneath.

Shake Up: shake your phone, slide every block

Some combos trigger Shake Up instead. Tilt your iPhone to aim, give it a shake, and every block on the board slides to that side and bounces off the wall. Lines that fill up clear on the spot, and every line pays a gem. Six shakes, nine seconds, and chains get bigger every time.

Brain Rush: how fast is your block brain?

A minute of speed puzzles. Twist rows and columns like a Rubik's cube until the board matches the picture, or work out which way to tilt it to clear a line. Every solve adds time, and fast solves build a lightning streak.

Bosses, treasure chests and secret doors

Adventure is endless levels with goals and stars, five per world. Every fifth level is a boss: bigger goals, a combo to hit and a red-hot board. Every tenth hides a treasure chest. Get three stars on all five levels of a world and a secret door opens to a hand-drawn bonus level.

Fourteen country worlds, each with its own landmark and its flag waving in the breeze: the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, Mount Fuji, the Great Wall, Christ the Redeemer and more. In Jamaica, Block Boy rocks little dreads under a red, gold and green tam.

To the Moon, to Mars, and into Dragon Peaks

On the Moon and Mars, Block Boy puts on his space helmet and floats in zero gravity next to a lunar lander and a rocket that roars when you clear lines. In Dragon Peaks, friendly dragons fly overhead and breathe fire on every big clear.

Auroras that glow brighter with your combo, sleighs crossing the moon, fireworks for a new best. Every world gets its own scenery, weather, board frame and music mood.

Unfold it. The board unfolds with you.

Block Boy rearranges itself for every screen. Closed, it's a classic tall layout. Open it and turn it sideways, and your board fills one side while Block Boy, the magic orb and your pieces move to the other. It works in Split View too, and nothing is lost mid-game when you fold.

Half-open it like a book and the game moves off the fold: the board on one page, everything else on the other, gliding into place as you open it. Brain Rush puts the picture on one page and the puzzle on the other, and in Versus each player gets a page of their own.

Good to know

How much does it cost?

Block Boy is free to download, with no ads, ever. Gems buy worlds, hats, extra sticker packs, streak freezes and extra revives, and you earn them by playing. If you'd like to support the game, there are optional purchases: gem packs, a one-time Starter Pack, the Album Pass (double sticker packs), the World Tour Pack, the Legend Pass (a bonus reward at every rank and super-rare trophies) and the All Worlds Pass. Everything else can be earned by playing.

Can I enjoy it without paying?

Yes. Every mode, level, world and nearly every hat can be earned by playing. Purchases speed things up or add a few extras, like the Legend Pass relics. There are no ads to sit through and no timers that make you wait.

What's the Legend Pass?

An optional one-time purchase that adds a second reward to every rank on the Rank Road, including ranks you've already reached, plus super-rare relics for your Trophy Case, two exclusive board frames, the Hero Cape and 200 gems. Everything on the free track stays free.

How do I find secret levels and hidden trophies?

Each world in Adventure has a secret door: get three stars on all five of its levels and it opens. Hidden trophies show only a riddle in the Trophy Case until you earn them. Think tickles, midnights and very angry dragons.

Which languages does it speak?

English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Block Boy follows your iPhone's language setting.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone with iOS 17 or later, including iPhone Duo. Game Center challenges and activities need iOS 26 or later.

Is it accessible?

Yes. VoiceOver can describe the board and place pieces for you. There's an optional colorblind mode that adds a shape to every block, text that follows your size setting, and Reduce Motion support.

What happens to my data?

Your progress and stats stay on your iPhone. Leaderboards and achievements go through Game Center if you're signed in. Reminders are optional and scheduled on your phone. Purchases go through Apple; we never see your payment details. There are no ads, no tracking and no third-party SDKs, and we never sell your data. See the privacy policy.

Why does Block Boy know it's my birthday?

Only if you tell him: open Settings in the game and turn on "Tell Block Boy my birthday". Just the month and day are saved, on your iPhone, and never sent anywhere. On the day, he wears a party hat and celebrates with you.

Can two people play on one phone?

Yes. Versus mode puts two boards on one screen, face to face on a table or side by side on an unfolded iPhone Duo. Both players get the same pieces. Matches are first to 3, with taunts, match point, and the Block Reverse card: grab it first, play it to swap hands, and hope your rival doesn't hit NOPE! in time.
